I wish, I would have known of this group before. Do you ever have meetings at night? I work from 5am-6pm m-fr. If you could let me know if any meeting will be at night, I would like to attend to find out more about Home Rule.
I have a suggestion for the FAQ section. I’ve been looking for exactly what would be gained or lost by repealing Home Rule, but haven’t been able to find many details online.
Could you post a list of what specific powers the City Government has under Home Rule, how that would change with the loss of Home Rule, and what (legislatively) would be gained/lost with the loss of Home Rule?
Kevin… thanks for the suggestion and we’ll do our best. The effort to circulate the petition was enormous and time consuming. As expected, an objection was filed, 4 minutes before the deadline to do so, and answering that objection will consume our time before the Feb. 2nd hearing, which I hope you can attend or watch on Cable 14.
As soon as possible after the hearing we will begin posting answers to your questions. We will also provide links to pro and anti home rule sites as well.
